Editing: Day Five
Editing: Day Five
We spent our time today, cutting down certain shots in order to make the film shorter. We also added the soundtracks mentioned in my previous post and sound effect such as sounds of leaves rustling, and the sound of a camera shutter closing. As well as that, we also decided to change our films name from 'Eventide' to 'Shutter' as Eventide did not really relate to our film.

Editing Day Three
Editing: Day Three
Today we managed to finish editing all of the forest scene shots we had, and we also started editing the house scene shots we managed to film yesterday. However, we still need to finish editing the house scenes, and we also need to film the last few shots for the forest scenes/end of the film.

Filming - Day 3: House Scenes (2nd Shoot)
Filming - Day 3: House Scenes (2nd Shoot)
- Today met up at Stratford Station at 10am
- We made our way to the location and arrived at 10:30am
- We started filming at 10:45am and shot our camera shots that took place outside first as we had to make sure the lighting for these scenes matched the lighting for our shoot at the forest.
- We then shot our internal shots and set up our screen cap software for the research shots shown on our story boards
- We finished filming at 2:45pm and had lunch.

Editing Day Two
Editing: Day Two
Today we managed to finish editing half of our forest scenes, as well as our house scenes. However, after looking through our house scenes, we realised that the lighting in those scenes does not match the rest of our footage. Due to this we decided to schedule a reshoot for the house scene at a different location.

Editing Day One
Editing: Day One
We spent our first day of editing learning how to use the software available to us, Final Cut Pro X. We learned how to:
- Cut parts of the footage we had
- Add video and sound effects
- Render the video we had edited
- Adjust sound levels
After learning these skills, we managed to edit the house scenes that we had shot on our first day of filming.

Filming: Day 2 - Forest Scenes
Filming: Day 2 - Forest Scenes
Today we filmed our shots for the forest scenes in our short film. This session only required both of our actors, Adeel Fareed and Claudio.
- We decided to meet at 11am at Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford this time as we learned that it takes longer to get shots right after going through our first day of filming.
- After meeting up we decided to bought food and started to head to our location; Bushwood, Epping Forest.
- Filming started at 2pm and we managed to film shots 8-19 and shots 26 to 37.
- We were unable to film the last few shots as our camera had ran out of battery.
- The last few shots take place in front of a tree in the forest. We decided to film these shots in the forest by our college (Epping forest) as it would be more convenient for us. Although, we will be filming in a different area in the forest, the continuity of our film will not be affected as the shots we need to film show nothing but our actor and the tree trunk itself.

Filming: Day 1 - House Scenes
Filming: Day 1 - House scenes
Today we filmed our shots for the house scenes in our short film. This session only required one of our actors, Claudio.
- We decided to meet up at Stratford Station at 1pm and headed to our location at 2pm.
- After setting up our equipment and having our actor put on his costume we started filming at 3pm.
- We filmed from 3pm to 6pm and managed to get shots 1-6 and 21-23 done (These can be seen on an earlier post showing our storyboard)
- However, out of all our house scene shots, we still need to film shots 7, 20 and 24 as these shots take place outside it was too dark outside to film these shots.
- Shot no. 24 involves the use of screen capture software which I have downloaded (Quicktime Player) and can be done/shot very easily.
- Shots 7 and 20 involve shooting outside of a house on the pavement. Due to this we plan on shooting at a location closer to where our producers and actors live as we believe it will be more convenient. As well as that, doing this will not affect the continuity of the film as the outside of our location for the house was not shown in the previously filmed shots.
- From this experience, we have learned to give ourselves more time to film as it may take a while to get the shots we need.
